Reggie Bush
2006 #2 overall Reggie Bush. 10-6. NFC Title Game loss.

2005 #2 overall Ronnie Brown went 9-7 in '05

Pre Bowl Top 5 Mock

If the mock were to happen today, this is what I see happening...

#5 Overall- New England- James Laurinaitis, LB The Ohio State University

I'm tempted to put Mike Jenkins here because Asante Samuel is leaving, but Junior Seau and Teddy Bruschi are nearing the same ages as their jersey numbers.

James Laurinaitis

#4 Overall- Atlanta- Andre Woodson, QB Kentucky

No Brohm? Ryan?!! I don't think so. Woodson just has that "it" that the others dont have. And... Arthur Blank has to try to fill the dome with someone his largely African American fanbase can rally around. However, If the Falcons do pick Ryan and he wears #12 I will only refer to him as CHRIS CHANDLER for the rest of eternity!!!! Muahahaha!

Chris Chandler

#3 Overall- New York Jets- Darren McFadden, RB Arkansas

They have no franchise QB, yet they will take the flashy pick. The fans will be happy on draft day... because they will have a top 5 pick again next year. Run DMC is the best offensive player in the draft, but the Jets need more than a RB. They don't have the luxury of a defense like Minnesota to make this pick... but they will.

Mcfadden is gonna win hesimen

#2 Overall- St. Louis Rams- Glenn Dorsey, DT LSU

This pick adds youth on the line and allows Carriker to switch back to DE. A win-win.

LSU dorsey

#1 Overall- Miami Dolphins- Chris Long, DE UVA

The Tuna will be making the picks for his new team this year. The Dolphins run a 3-4 so Dorsey isn't the BEST pick even though he's a heck of a prospect. When Parcells ran 3-4 teams as a coach he always stocked up on DEs. I expect the Fins to be no different.

Chris Long

Tebow Wins Heisman

The most unpredictable Heisman race of all time got very predictable at the end. Tebow wins it. First sophomore ever to accomplish the Heisman.

Heisman Preview

The four finalists for this year's Heisman trophy have been announced. They are Hawaii QB Colt Brennan, Arkansas RB Darren McFadden, Missouri QB Chase Daniels, and Florida QB Tim Tebow.

The highlights:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Colt Brennan has the monster numbers out of Hawaii's wide open system. He has the NCAA record for most TD passes.

Chase Daniels lead the underdog Missouri titles to the
#1 ranking in the country after a huge win over rival Kansas.

Darren McFadden also beat a highly ranked rival; when he led the Razorbacks to a overtime win over LSU.

Tim Tebow has the distinction of being the only man to have
20 TDs passing and rushing in the same year.

The underdog:

Missouri QB
Chase Daniels has rode Missouri's Cinderella season all the way to the Downtown Athletic Club. I'm sorry, this Saturday the clock will struck 12 for you. Missouri lost so much love after their loss to Oklahoma their not even playing in a bowl game!

The Favorite:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Tim Tebow is a stat machine. Not only does he have 800 plus yards in the ground he is also the nation's third leading passer with a 68% completion rate. That combined with his 20-20 stats make it statistically impossible not to hand him the hardware.

The Dark Horse:

Colt Brennan. All he has done is set records and Quarterback the only
undefeated team in the land but he is still not feeling the love. Could it be Hawaii's wack schedule? (I couldn't help it!)

The Winner:

As I've said before,
Tim Tebow will win the award. The year he's had makes everyone look like second placers in this one.

Missouri, West Virgina Lose

Last weekend was a crazy one for college football. Both #1 Missou and #2 WVU lost in their respective contests, thus taking them out the National Title Picture. And taking Missou completely out the BCS! What a crock!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The LSU Tigers and the Ohio State Bucks have snuck back into it and somehow the system "worked itself out". Les Miles vs. Ohio State. I find it interesting that a former Michigan man has the Michigan job on the table and Ohio State in his sights... it would be a very easy transition to coach the Wolverines after that game...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

...The Heisman will be given out this Friday.

In my opinion, here are the top 5 finalists.

Dennis Dixon, QB Oregon
Tim Tebow, QB Florida
Darren McFadden, RB Arkansas
Colt Brennan, QB Hawaii
Pat White, QB West Virgina

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I believe
Tim Tebow's gazillion rushing yards should win it for him easily, but Darren McFadden is the best player in the country.

2007 Denver Broncos: A Year in Review

I've held my tongue on this season too far, so Ill let it all out in this one thread. In case you're not familiar with me, I am an unbiased, realist. I see the Broncos for exactly who they are. I don't sugar coat anything. If thats what you want, stop reading.

If you want a real opinion of the Broncos continue....

First and foremost let's break down the front office. The roster itself.

The last few drafts were successes for the most part. We don't have as many players still on our roster from those drafts as other teams, but the players that stuck have been pretty good. Darrent Williams, Jay Cutler, Tony Scheffler, Brandon Marshall, etc.

My major problem is the lack of major offensive talent drafted in the first few rounds. When you draft a QB #11 overall, you better damn well invest in some other positions to help him. Mainly running back and receiver. I am embarrassed that Marshawn Lynch or Laurence Maroney aren't Broncos.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

And that leads me to the roster. I wont talk about Javon as he was injured when we got him, but seriously... Travis Henry had 2 strikes when we acquired him. His inability to avoid the sticky stuff has left us throwing undrafted rookie after rookie into the starting lineup with our #11 overall QB.

Without Javon or Rod for the foreseeable future, our WR corps scare no one. Marshall is the master at running sideline to sideline for no yards, and Glenn Martinez is a little bit better than Charlie Adams was. I like the Stokely pickup though, however we need a younger player behind him developing.

On defense, things are better. Shannahan and crew finally drafted D Line and boy did they almost blow it. Jarvis Moss was the worst pick in the first round this side of Brady Quinn. If you remember from my dream draft I called for Anthony Spencer, but Tim Crowder appeases me. Elvin Dumervil is our diamond in the rough on defense IMO.

As far as the linebackers and corners go, I have nothing pretty to say. Our linebackers are all lost in pass defense which explains how every TE has a field day against the Broncos. We really need to move on from Ian Gold. I don't care how fast he runs. He misses too many plays. The corners have been horrid. Champ Bailey gets a pass for playing injured most of the year. Dre Bly isn't worth the paper his checks are printed on, and Foxworth is... Foxworth. The only bright spot in our secondary is Abdullah.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The Broncos this year simply aren't very good. A team that's used to overachieving with minimal talent has finally been bit by it's questionable signings, age, and neglectful drafts. We should have started the season 0-5 if it weren't for the football Gods. The last few games give me hope for the future though as I see this team maturing. Jay Cutler is making it easier and easier to bash Jake Plummer every snap. Brandon Marshall is growing into a top flight WR in our very eyes. Tony Scheffler has found his dedication to stay on the field (and not get deactivated by Shannahan). Jason Elam has become the best clutch kicker in the game again.

So what lies ahead? First and foremost. Personnel. Bates needs to bring in "his" players and make his scheme work or get out of town. Shannahan needs to mass draft on offense and give Jay more help. The offensive line needs to get younger and healthier either through draft or Free Agency.

Every year I hop on a players bandwagon for this team and this year its no different. Barring Tatum Bell doesn't come back to Denver this offseason, I look to a running back to cure the Broncos woes....

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Darren McFadden.

The man who simply tears though SEC defenses at will with blazing sub 4.4 speed and amazing cutbacks, he can easily be this team's Adrian Peterson. The Broncos have suffered too long, swallow the pride and bring a top flight RB into town Mike. Trade whatever, whoever you have to. Just get McFadden on this team. Ask Norv Turner and Herm Edwards how does an offense of Cutler-McFadden-Marshall look for the next 7-10 years? It looks very damn scary.

McFadden Beats #1

Has Darren McFadden reasserted himself as the #1 overall prospect in the 2008 draft? After the overtime upset of #1 LSU, the answer may be yes. McFadden put up his usual unbelievable numbers out of the wild hog offense which included 32 carries for 206 yards and going 3/6 passing with a Td. Dear Mike Shannahan, please get this kid at all costs. You blew it with Lawrence Maroney and Marshawn Lynch.. get it right this time! Travis Henry is unreliable!

That's my inner blue and orange speaking out, but yeah... McFadden is a beast.

Chris Long's Number Retired

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Today at the UVA VT game the Cavaliers decided to retire Chris Long's #91 before the game. The reasoning? "He embodies everything Virgina football is supposed to be" or something like that. Or is it because Chris is just that nasty and is already #4 on Mel Kipers big board before the Bowl Season?

The Evolution of Pat White

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Should he consider entering after his junior season, WVU QB Pat White will be one of the most intriguing draft prospects. At 6'2 186 lbs, most draft scouts have him down as an "athlete" or wide receiver right now, but I think Pat has a legit shot at QB'ing in the next level. An ever better shot than Troy Smith, mind you.

Look at the numbers. Every year Pat is getting better moving the ball through the air.
Passing Stats
YEARTEAM CMP ATT PCT YDS AVG TD LNG INT RAT
2005WVU65 114 57.0 828 7.3 8 50 5 132.4
2006WVU118 179 65.9 1655 9.2 13 67 7 159.7
2007WVU107 155 69.0 1251 8.1 11 58 2 157.7

The KEY stat here being the 2 INTs on the year thus far. Pat is adding good decision making to his skillset... the NFL better watch out. The next Michael Vick could be entering the league soon.

Wow did Andre Woodson blow it

I bet ESPN's producers messed up their pants when Matt Ryan completed that lucky pass

I TOLD YOU Mike Crabtree was one of the best receivers in the Nation

Mark Sanchez: next year, there's always next year

Ohio State is still playing a one game season

No Mike Hart... no problem

Dennis Dixon for Heisman!

Georgia put a whooping on Florida and Tim Tebow's Heisman hopes

Georgia's running back Moreno is a beast

Heisman Watch:

Matt Ryan: 2,469 yards 19 tds
Dennis Dixon: 1885 yards 16 tds, 492 yards 8 tds rushing

Who Will Go #1?

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Here's what I think will happen.

If the RAMS get the first pick:
I see them taking Jake Long. Orlando Pace isn't getting any younger and you might as well develop another tackle with Alex Barron sooner rather than later. They don't need a RB so McFadden wouldn't make sense, but I wouldn't rule out them taking a top QB if the organization decides to move on from Bulger.

If the DOLPHINS get the first pick:
I see them taking the top QB available, which I project to be Andre Woodson or Matt Ryan. There is one rule in the NFL Draft: If you don't have a franchise QB, you must take one.

If the FALCONS get the first pick:
I see them taking Brian Brohm. I don't have Brohm as my #1 QB, but his ties to Petrino justifies the pick. They and quietly phase out the Harrington era and try their chances with their new franchise QB.

Does anyone want to be #1?

Ohio State is playing a one game season.

UCLA sonned Cal.

Mallet sucks. Michigan might as well play Henne even if he's hurt.

Matt Ryan is overrated. The best QB is Andre Woodson.

Michigan is a better team than they get credit for. Mike Hart for Heisman.

Skip Holtz is the most underrated coach in D1.

Florida really isn't that good.

I wanted to see a small school in the National title game but Rutgers wasn't having it.

I thought Sam Keller was the second coming in Nebraska. You can try all you want, but Eric

Crouch or Scott Frost isn't walking through that door.

Mike Crabtree is secretly one of the best recievers in the Nation.

USC is a good team still. I'd love to see them destroy OSU for the title.

Why does ESPN have a woodie for Matt Ryan all of a sudden?

Heisman Hopefuls:
Mike Hart- 1078 yards, 12 tds
Andre Woodson- 2,200 yards, 26 tds
Tim Tebow- 1,711 yards 17 td passing, 578 yards 10 tds rushing
Matt Ryan... I guess. 2,184 yards 17 tds

It's never to early to MOCK UP

2008 NFL Mock Draft

  1. Miami Dolphins

BRIAN BROHM QB LOUISVILLE

To make up for passing on Brady Quinn, the Dolphins take this Heisman Candidate, Cannon-Armed QB… but fans want Jake Long, this year!!! Another disappointing 1st round for Fins fans.

  1. Buffalo Bills

JAKE LONG OT MICHIGAN

Making Mike Hart look so good has paid off… now Long gets to block for a truly elite RB in Buffalo. Fantasy gurus are drooling.

  1. St. Louis Rams

GLENN DORSEY DT LSU

Adam Carriker is NOT A DEFENSIVE TACKLE!!! Whew! Now that’s out of the way… look for the Rams to regain top form with Carriker and Dorsey anchoring that D-Line for years.

  1. New Orleans Saints

DARREN MCFADDEN RB ARKANSAS

Yes… you read it right! Deuce McAlister is on his way out… To Tampa Bay, is my guess, but regardless... Reggie Bush and Darren McFadden easily make up the most potentially explosive backfield known to fan.

  1. Atlanta Falcons

KENNY PHILLIPS S MIAMI

The Falcons, systematically, sure up their defensive backs, with this pick. Whether or not DeAngelo Hall stops crying and stays with the team is unknown, but Phillips is the best DB in this draft and worthy of this pick.

  1. Dallas Cowboys (from Cleveland)

CALAIS CAMPBELL DE MIAMI

The Cowboys defense gets THAT much scarier. Campbell will ensure that opposing quarterbacks don’t have time to expose the Cowboys lackluster pass coverage.

  1. New York Jets

CHRIS LONG DE VIRGINIA

He’s the perfect DE for the 3-4 that the Jets run. Being Howie’s son helps.

  1. Minnesota Vikings

ANDRE WOODSON QB KENTUCKY

I know. I know. I know. They gave up extra picks to get Tavaris Jackson, but Tavaris Jackson only gives up picks to defenses! Andre Woodson rarely turns the ball over, is tall, is strong and has a strong and accurate arm. His only knocks are his mechanics. They spoke ill of Vince Young’s mechanics…

  1. Kansas City Chiefs

DESEAN JACKSON WR CALIFORNIA

He’ll be the perfect compliment to Dwayne Bowe. Brodie Croyle will be buying a lot of dinners for these guys, for years to come.

  1. Cincinnati Bengals

DAN CONNOR LB PENN STATE

Have you seen the depth chart of the Bengals’ linebackers?

  1. Oakland Raiders

SAM BAKER OT USC

Okay, JaMarcus. Your “contract holdout”, to give the Raiders time to get you some pass protection, worked!!!

  1. Philadelphia Eagles

MALCOLM JENKINS CB OHIO STATE

The Eagles can go anywhere on draft day, but they chose to add a possible future Pro Bowl caliber CB to their roster.

  1. Detroit Lions

TYSON JACKSON DE LSU

Wait…DE? TYSON?!?!! DAMN! Mike Martz thought this was DESEAN Jackson

  1. New England Patriots (from San Francisco)

KEITH RIVERS LB USC

Junior Seau was on Tecmo Bowl for NES… Time to get younger!!!

  1. Chicago Bears

QUENTIN GROVES DE/LB AUBURN

Lance Briggs will get a lot of money from some other team… may as well get a cheaper replacement to accumulate the tackles Urlacher makes possible.

  1. Carolina Panthers

JAMES LAURINAITIS ILB OHIO STATE

How long can they depend on Dan Morgan to NOT be concussed?

  1. Denver Broncos

REGGIE SMITH DB OKLAHOMA

The Broncos really could use some help at linebacker but no one is worthy, at this pick. They take a very versatile defensive back. He can finally cover the passes their current safeties can’t, and he can step in at CB, when needed.

  1. Arizona Cardinals

DERRICK HARVEY DE/LB FLORIDA

He’ll be asked to be a 3-4 LB, as he’s not a very heavy DE. If putting pressure on the QB is what they need… Harvey will not disappoint.

  1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

SEDRICK ELLIS DT USC

He’ll look to sure up the D-Line in the Tampa 2. If Chris Hovan is your best DT… it’s time for an upgrade.

  1. Houston Texans

GOSDER CHERILUS OT BOSTON COLLEGE

The Texans quietly get a great T prospect that can start immediately.

  1. Washington Redskins

ADARIUS BOWMAN WR OKLAHOMA STATE

The days of Brandon Lloyd are sure to be over after 2007-2008… The Skins search for the perfect prospect compliment to Santana Moss and Antwaan Randle El.

  1. Seattle Seahawks

JONATHAN STEWART RB OREGON

No one wants to say it, but… Shaun Alexander’s best days are behind him. It’s time to slowly allow Alexander to accept reality, as his carries begin to be shared with this amazing prospect out of Oregon.

  1. San Diego Chargers

FRANK OKAM DT TEXAS

When Jamaal Williams went down FOR A FEW SNAPS this season… the Chargers run defense was quickly exposed. It’s time to get a fresh body in the rotation.

  1. New York Giants

ALI HIGHSMITH LB LSU

A premier playmaker… and the Giants could use that at their LB position. They landed on a gold mine with Aaron Ross, last draft, and hope to do the same this year. Highsmith will allow Kiwanuka to put his hand back in the dirt, as a DE, and Strahan to do… whatever he does… for another team.

  1. Baltimore Ravens

ANTOINE CASON CB ARIZONA

Let me let you in on a secret… CB’s with the last name Rolle are overrated!!! Thank Braylon Edwards for making this decision so easy for the Ravens FO.

  1. Tennessee Titans

LIMAS SWEED WR TEXAS

Thanks to a wrist injury that sidelined him his senior season, how he tests during workouts and the Combine will determine his worth, but Vince Young’s importance to the organization, mixed with Brandon Jones being the team’s best receiver, will land Limas back with his former college QB.

  1. Green Bay Packers

MIKE JENKINS CB SOUTH FLORIDA

Charles Woodson and Al Harris do a great job for Green Bay’s excellent defense, but they need some depth at this position. Jenkins will be a gem. Mark my words!!!

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars

TOMMY BLAKE DE/LB T.C.U.

He’s a nasty, disruptive player that will bring some BOOM BAP(!) back to this defense.

  1. Pittsburgh Steelers

VINCE HALL LB VIRGINA TECH

The Steelers have few weaknesses but their LB depth just got a lot better. The QB of Virginia Tech’s stout defense will add a lot to Pittsburgh’s current D.

  1. Dallas Cowboys

STEVE SLATON RB WEST VIRGINIA

Much like Marion Barber III, Steve Slaton is a game-breaker. I’d be surprised to see Julius Jones wearing a Cowboys jersey next year. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him wearing a Patriots jersey, but that’s another story. Slaton and Barber are threats to the end zone each time they touch a football.

  1. San Francisco 49’ERs (From Indianapolis)

JONATHAN HEFNEY S TENNESSEE

He’s not as stout, but Hefney has a lot of Bob Sander’s tenacity, play-diagnosing ability and relentlessness. A receiver would be wise at this spot, but they seem committed to running the ball. Do they not believe in Alex Smith?

  1. (Forfeit of the New England Patriots)

Chris Johnson Breaks Out

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

ECU Senior running back Chris Johnson scored on a 70 yard swing pass and a 90 yard kick return as he led the Pirates to a 52-38 routing of Central Florida on Saturday. With his school record 326 all purpose yards in the game only one question remains, is he ready for the next level? Chris' 4.2 speed is going to get him seriously looked at but with the NFL Draft getting deeper and deeper each year can his speed alone carry him to a professional training camp?

Chad Henne, Dennis Dixon QB News

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Michigan Wolverines Quarterback Chad Henne seems to be the first big name to slip down the draft boards this year. With Michigan facing a 0-3 start after losing to Appalachian State and Oregon, it has been announced that Henne won't start the next game for the Wolverines. Henne definately has fallen from a surefire first rounder into a possible 2nd or even third. Especially with the insane stats Colt Brennan spews out and...

...Dennis Dixon. Is he the poor man's Vince Young? After watching the awesome display he put on against Michigan I can't help but think so. To those that didn't see the fake statue or liberty, here it is:

Top Quarterbacks in 07

Here are a few of the Quarterbacks to watch for in the 2007 NFL Draft.

1. Andre Woodson, Kentucky
Can Woodson be this year's Jay Cutler? The stats say so, but he has to continue his upswing on the field to go high on draft day.

2. Josh David Booty, USC
Can USC's leader fall in the footsteps of Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart? I don't believe Booty is nearly as good as the former USC QB's but he can easily lead his loaded squad to a title this year.

3. Colt Brennan, Hawaii
Can Colt continue to put up monster stats against the WAC? Of course. Can he do it in the NFL? Time will tell.

4. Brian Brohm, Louisville
Can Brian bring the Heisman to Louisville?

5. Colt McCoy, Texas
Can Colt make the next step towards being Texas' next great QB? I'd say yes after his spectacular freshman season.

6. Dennis Dixon, Oregon
Can Dennis Dixon be this year's Troy Smith?

7. Matt Ryan, Boston College
Matt Ryan is everyone's quiet favorite. Let's see if what he can do in the ACC.

8. Pat White, West Virgina
Pat White comes back to a loaded WVU offense. Can he prove that he can also throw the ball? We'll see.

9. Chad Henne, Michigan
Henne and Mike Hart guarantee a national title this year. Let's see if they deliver.

10. Matt Flynn, LSU
Will Flynn get LSU to another national title?

Vick Dog Fighting Case Ends

It has been announced today that Michael Vick will plead guilty to federal dog fighting and conspiracy charges. It is unclear what sort of jail time he will get but most likely it will be between 12 and 36 months in jail.

How will this effect a possible comeback?

Well, Vick will first serve the year or year and a half in jail and then he's technically a free man. Right? No. The NFL will most likely also suspend Vick and NOT let his suspension run co-current with his prison time.

Therefore, the soonest we will see Vick back on the field will be the 2010 season. Vick will be 30 years old, and fighting to gain his skills and reputation back. So sad, so sad.

Where Will Vick Land?

By now you have probably heard of Michael Vick's trial regarding his involvement in an alleged dog fighting ring. It seems as if the Falcons are completely washing their hands of him, and have recently refused to name Mike by name and refer to him instead as "the player." That had me thinking, where are some soft spots Mike could land after all of this?

Option #4- Minnesota Vikings
Young Tavaris Jackson is manning the ship (hopefully not the fun one) in Minnesota right now. He lacks major game experience, and comes from a small school. Will he be the next Steve McNair? Time will tell, but Vick would be great insurance.

Option #3- Jacksonville Jaguars
They have Garrard and Leftwich, but that hasn't stopped them from courting Daunte Culpepper as of late. Vick combines Garrards mobility with Leftwich's arm, it could be a decent fit.

Option #2- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
They tried to trade for Jake the Fake, and have 6 Quarterbacks on their roster right now. Assuming the aging Jeff Garcia doesn't get them to the promise land, Jeff Gruden may have to take desperate measures to secure his job. Vick would get to lay it to Arthur twice a year as an added bonus.

Option #1- Baltimore Ravens
This is the most likely destination from a city and football perspective. A rough, forgiving, city that has stayed with Ray Lewis and Steve McNair through thick and thin would be a nice soft spot for Mike to land. The Ravens have Troy Smith and Kyle Boller on their roster, but who really takes either of their NFL chances seriously? Baltimore is a city that would not only love to have Vick under center, but they would embrace him with a hometown like love Mike needs at this time in his career.

Falcons Sign Unknown Japanese Reciever

What's wrong with the folks down in Atlanta?

Fresh off a disappointing passing season for Michael Vick and disheartening rumors about dog fighting, the Falcons once again set Mike up for career sabotage.

Their latest signing is 5-10 179 pound Noriaki Kinoshita from NFL Europa. Now, I like NFL Europe players but another developmental receiver is not what the Falcons need. The already have Roddy White, Michael Jenkins, Brian "Broken Leg" Finneran, and the oldie but goodie Joe Horn. Not to mention last season they drafted Arena League receiver Troy Bergeron and imported Broncos bust receiver Ashley Lelie.

Can the Falcons get it done? Not with Rod out on an endzone amber alert, Finneran's career hanging in the balance, and Joe Horn getting older as I type...

Getting Rid of NFL Europe? Bad Idea.

The NFL had it right, then destroyed it.

They announced last week that they were destroying their overseas developmental league after 16 seasons. And while they do have very highly paid decision makers who made this decision, I cant help but disagree.

For one, the league produced some great stars. Players such as Jake Delhomme, Kurt Warner, and Dante Hall all refined their skills in Europe before making it to Pro Bowl levels as NFL starters. If it weren't for NFL Europe, Kurt would still be stocking shelves in that convience store.

The league gave players a chance to continue their professional careers. Otherwise, they wouldn't have a chance outside of arena ball and we know the league takes arena players as serious as Tedd Ginn's Pro Bowl chances.

With all this said, its sad to see the league go. I actually enjoyed watching Jarrett Payton and others rip it up over there. Will the NFL regret their decision? Will Mark Cuban's new football league capitalize on this? Only time will tell.

MOCK IT ON UP!!!

Yet, another installment... enjoy...

1. Portland- GREG ODEN C OHIO STATE
I used to “not be sold” on Greg Oden. Well… those days are GONE. On and off the court… he’s coming FOR THAT NUMBER ONE SPOT!!!

2. Seattle- KEVIN DURANT PG/SG/SF/PF/C
TEXAS
In a draft where you just can’t lose in the top 2… Seattle gets a super-sharp talent to go along with Ray Allen and… um…

3. Atlanta- AL HORFORD PF/C FLORIDA
BPA… So what If they have 9 other Forwards on their roster.

4. Memphis- MIKE CONLEY JR. PG
OHIO STATE
Start crying, Pau. You’re still playing Center.

5. Boston- YI JIANILAN PF CHINA
Great PR move for an awful team. Trade the farm for Kobe Bryant, pre-draft, or get a bargain in Paul Pierce before the trade deadline?

6. Milwaukee- JEFF GREEN F
GEORGETOWn
He does everything well, already… and to think… Georgetown didn’t utilize his full potential in their Princeton style offense. Watch out, Cavs…

7. Minnesota- COREY BREWER G/F FLORIDA

No offense. Plenty of defense. No ego. The anti-Ricky Davis.

8. Charlotte- BRANDaN WRIGHT PF UNIVERISTY OF NORTH CAROLINA

He can step in those 44 games Emeka Okafur misses… plus it’s the homer pick. His familiarity will mask his lack of offensive arsenal, until his game develops.

9. Chicago- SPENCER HAWES C WASHINGTON

Fans claim to be a post presence away from the Finals? We’ll see.

10.
Sacramento- JOAKIM NOAH F/C FLORIDA

He’ll bring… offense? No. Defense… Eh… not really, but he’ll bring plenty of energy to a re-building franchise.

11. Atlanta- ACIE LAW IV PG TEXAS A & M

Trust me… passing on Conley wasn’t a bad move. Law will lead this team to the playoffs… IN 07-08. Write it down. Quote it. Tattoo it on your arm.

12. Philadelphia- AL THORNTON F FLORIDA STATE

He’ll bring maturity, poise and athleticism. Their young core is shaping up well.

13. New Orleans- NICK YOUNG SG UNIVERISTY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNA

If Mohawks are going to be in style… it’ll be in New Orleans.

14. LA Clippers- JAVARIS CRITTENTON PG GEORGIA TECH

Sometimes… you have to draft for need and not potential. The Clippers need to win games, before Elton Brand can opt out next season. Crittenton can help.

15. Detroit- THADDEUS YOUNG G/F
GEORGIA TECH

Cleveland exposed their lack of young depth… especially in the backcourt.

16. Washington - DERRICK BYARS SG VANDERBILT

He’s ready to contribute right away. Sadly, this rookie will immediately become their best perimeter defender from the day he signs a contract.

17. New Jersey- JULIAN WRIGHT F
KANSAS

Remember when the Wizards passed on PG Marcus Williams, and the Nets struck gold when they selected him? DeJa Vu? I think so…

18. Golden State- RODNEY STUCKEY G EASTERN WASHINGTON

He is the perfect compliment to Baron Davis.

19. LA Lakers- MORRIS ALMOND SG RICE

He can do it all on the offensive end. After being the go-to guy at Rice, he’ll have to learn to be the 6th option, behind Kobe, Kobe, Kobe, Kobe aaaaaand... Odom.

20. Miami- JASON SMITH PF
COLORADO STATE

They signed Antoine Walker. They have to be interested in this 7 footer, who’s in love with the jump shot.

21. Philadelphia- RUDY FERNANDEZ SG
SPAIN

Tough competitor. Once he adds weight and strength, he’ll be a more than capable back-up SG, behind Andre Iguodala.

22. Charlotte- MARCO BELINELLI SG ITALY

Okay, so Michael Jordan couldn’t co-exist with Rip Hamilton in Washington, well he could surely use him in CHA. Why not take a taller, stronger version of Rip?

23. New York- DAEQUAN COOK G
OHIO STATE

They’ve stated they’ll take a ‘chance’ and someone they can ‘wait a year for’. Cook is talented, but you’ll surely have to wait for him to put it all together.

24. Phoenix- TIAGO SPLITTER C
BRAZIL

They can afford to wait a year.

25. Utah- ARRON AFFLALO SG UCLA

Meet the key to playoff success… selfless, consistent players.

26. Houston - JOSH MCROBERTS PF DUKE

Someone will take a chance on him. He’s mildly athletic, but isn’t consistent. He ought to be the straw that breaks T-Mac’s already injury-laden back…

27. Detroit- GABE PRUITT PG UNIVERISTY OF
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

How long will Lindsey Hunter play?

28. San Antonio- JARED DUDLEY F BOSTON COLLEGE

Another talented, hard-working player is added to their roster. The rich get richer!!!

29. Phoenix- DEMETRIS NICHOLS SF SYRACUSE

Flat-out scorer and the measurable numbers to be a lock down defender at the 2-3… and even 4. He’s a real sleeper.

30. Philadelphia- KYRYLO FESENKO C UKRAINE

He’ll surprise a lot of people… Give him a year to prepare for the NBA’s physical style of play and demanding schedule, and he’s going to be a huge addition to the Sixers.
